For a possible corneal erosion that in a few days would improve, they send me an ointment. It was fine at first, but later it had discomfort such as stinging, burning or itching and dryness. So new treatments, always prescribed by an ophthalmologist, for the ocular surface followed. After months without improvement, on the contrary, the possibility of hypersensitivity or toxicity of the treatments finally falls and they are suspended. Can irreversible damage remain on my eye surface? Can it cause chronic allergic conjunctivitis?

Hello and thank you for submitting your question to our ophthalmology forum.

It is true that there may be hypersensitivity or intolerance to certain medications, but when withdrawing them, the ocular surface can regenerate again.

In your case, the table you refer needs an ophthalmological review in greater detail to be able to assess it.

We recommend that you go to a specialist ophthalmologist. In case of not having one, our eye surface and cornea it has the technological means and Professionals to be able to make a complete assessment of your case.
