Pulsed Light Treatment

Pulsed Light Treatment

Good morning, I've had the pulsed light treatment to treat blepharitis and it's been great. My question is, once the 3 treatment sessions have been completed, how many sessions are necessary for maintenance in the event that the symptoms return?

Many Thanks

Hello and thank you for submitting your ophthalmology question to our forum.

La Blepharitis it is a chronic disease so, in some cases, over time it can reappear. Its most frequent symptoms are the sensation of grit, burning, irritated eyes, itching, appearance of dandruff or scabs at the base of the eyelashes, among others...

In the ocular surface and dry eye team of the Área Oftalmologica Advanced, we have a ampHas experience in IPL pulsed light treatment Thermaeye Plus and monitoring of these pathologies.

Thus, after having performed the initial treatment, the need and the number of subsequent maintenance sessions will depend on the degree of blepharitis you have and, as you say in your question, if the symptoms reappear. One or several more sessions may be applied.

In your case we are happy to know that the pulsed light treatment is working great for you, for this reason we always advise you to continue making follow-up visits with your ophthalmologist @ ocular surface and dry eye specialist. Who, based on your symptoms, the complementary tests that we carry out and a meticulous clinical examination, can evaluate the evolution in each case and make a diagnosis and therapeutic indication on an individual basis.

Don't forget to keep doing your reviews! We are delighted to serve you.

Greetings,
