Dr. Amélia Carvalho graduated in medicine in 2010 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Later, she specialized in the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa, which ends in 2015.
During the specialization, he shows great interest in the pathology associated with oculoplastics. During his period of specialization, he published his first articles in journals of scientific impact, including fasciitis necrotizador palpebral in the Annals d'Oftalmologia, Threshold to predict astigmatism reduction after pterygium excision in Optometry and Vision Science and Topographic corneal changes in astigmatism due to pterygium's limbal-conjunctival autograft surgery in the journal Emmetropia, a journal of which he is currently a reviewer.
Currently, Dr. Amélia Carvalho is part of the ophthalmology team at Área Oftalmológica Avanzada in the Oculoplastics and Ophthalmological Emergencies Unit.
