The clinic collaborates again in the solidarity car competition that takes place in the south of Morocco from March 19 to 26
Sponsor a vehicle that will travel to twenty isolated villages and distribute essential medicines
Área Oftalmológica Avanzada (AOA) collaborates with Solidarity Atlas Classic Rally, which takes place this year from March 19 to 26 in Morocco. The Barcelona clinic is participating for the second year in the humanitarian car competition, sponsoring one of its 4×4 vehicles.
The Solidarity Atlas Classics Rally has toured Morocco for 7 editions to distribute basic medicines in the most isolated and needy regions of the southeast of the country. Almost a hundred classic vehicles prepared will come from all over the state to participate in this race, organized by TekniSportMotor. The competition is open to all types of runners, with or without experience in similar races, and the vehicles cannot exceed 3.600 kg, load and weight of the car included.
Jordi Barredo and Héctor Navarro are in charge of the AOA vehicle, which will leave Barcelona on March 18. During the competition, the vehicle in question will pass through twenty villages and will deliver the medical cargo at various points already arranged by the organizing team, such as schools, clinics and associations.
In the previous edition, more than 2.600 kilos of cargo were distributed, and the team that competes with the clinic reached third place. AOA will distribute over-the-counter medications, such as eye drops, bandages, or disinfectant products.
The ophthalmology clinic reaffirms its commitment to pathologies such as Dry Eye, which occurs, among others, after a long exposure in environments with extreme conditions, such as those in North Africa. AOA also continues with the solidarity line of action initiated this Christmas together with the Red Cross, which served to finance medicines for people with chronic diseases.
